Thank you for your interest in the Poway-Penasquitos AAUW Branch! Membership is open to women and men who hold an associate or equivalent, or baccalaureate degrees from accredited universities or colleges.

We invite you to visit us at a general or special interest meeting. As a member of our branch, you will have opportunities to:

• Participate in lifelong learning activities through AAUW events and special interest groups,
• Develop friendships and interact with our interesting, informed and active members,
• Make a difference in the lives of others and advocate for women and girls,
• Belong to a community that supports your personal and professional growth!

Membership is not by invitation. In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There are no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, national origin, creed, age, sexual orientation, or disability.

More about our Branch

Poway-Penasquitos AAUW is a branch of the National Association of AAUW and a member of the California Association of AAUW. Most of our members are from Poway, Rancho Peñasquitos, Rancho Bernardo, Sabre Springs, Carmel Mountain, Scripps Ranch, and other Inland North County areas.

The branch charter was initiated by a group of young women in the Poway area in 1971. Today, over 100 local area women are members of the Poway-Penasquitos branch including many of the original charter members.
